HAVPCD130 – J. S. Bach and Schubert

By combining parts of Bach’s Clavierübung (Keyboard practice) Book 3 with Schubert’s Mass in G, important music for church use is made available to the listener in a form that arguably serves well the composers’ original intentions. The presentation of Bach’s organ solos, which break up the sections of the Schubert mass, has the effect of concentrating attention on the individual choral movements.
