HAVPCD231 – O come let us adore him Christmas Carols from Winchester Cathedral
In Winchester Cathedral the annual Christmas Carol services begin with two contrasting voices. The first, soon after the lights are dimmed, is of an adult reading from the story of Creation. Then a solo treble sings the first verse of Once in Royal David’s City, a sound at once familiar yet challenging in its simplicity and directness: and Christmas is come once more.

HAVPCD210 – Carl Rütti: Veni Creator Spiritus Choral and Organ Music
Carl Rütti writes: ‘It was Ian Moore who told me years ago that I should write a new 40-part motet to go with Tallis’s Spem in alium. I knew about Tallis’s 40-part motet but this work was just mentioned in the music history lectures to show the climax of vocal polyphony which one can’t sing any more. Nevertheless I heard Cambridge Voices perform this motet in Cambridge in 1994 and in Paris in 1996 and I wasn’t dreaming! These performances inspired me for my 40-part motet.’
