The Choir of St Thomas on the Bourne has had a history of good music going back to the 1950s and beyond. The choir achieved a very high standard in the 1970s under the leadership of David Victor-Smith; in 1985 David Gabe became Director of Music, and the Head Chorister in 1990 became BET Choirboy of the Year. During this period the choir also made several recordings for BBC Radio. Under the leadership of David Swinson, the choir of 22 boys and 12 men continues in its aim to provide high standards of musicianship.
