Cé:sar Franck is the one bond in common to all three composers of this interesting and contrasting programme. Franck was the first important teacher of Louis Vierne, an inspiration to and compatriot of Joseph Jongen, and a predecessor of Langlais at the console of Sainte Clotilde, as well as being the teacher of one of Langlais’ instructors, Charles Tournemire.

Scott Farrell was born in 1971. At the age of 14, and within a year of taking up the organ, he had given his first recital and accepted his first church organist position…In August 1993 Scott took up the full-time post of Assistant Director of Music at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, where his duties include playing the organ and directing the Cathedral’s choirs.
