Commotio was formed in August 1999 with the aim of providing a refreshing alternative to both singers and audiences alike through the performance of lesser-known repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries. Through Commotio, Matthew Berry enthusiastically promotes the work of a younger generation of composers, and little-known compositions from more established writers: a combination which is represented in this recording.
