THIS is the second recording of Etons close harmony octet, now known as The Incognitos, who continue to perform at private functions and provide after-dinner entertainment, often for distinguished guests, in and around Eton College.
The group has also sung outside Eton, more recently performing in Eventicas Russian Rhapsody in the Natural History Museum, London. It has now established a reputation as a highlight of the international Eton College Chapel Choir tours, recently visiting countries such as China, Cuba, Japan, America, Australia and New Zealand Hale School, Perth.
In addition to more conventional repertoire, there were piano solos and some close-harmony pop classics. The latter, in beautifully polished performances, quite understandably brought the house down. Eight choristerswho call themselves the Eton Incognitoscame on-stage not in their cassocks but sporting a variety of coloured waistcoats, delighting listeners with favourites such as Tuxedo Junction and Good Vibrations, as well as a flawlessly conceived Eton Boating Song.
St Pauls Cathedral, Buffalo from Mary Kunz, Buffalo News, 1 April 2004 the moment Im sure everyone will remember happened halfway through the concerts second half. Seven choristers slipped away, doffed their regulation red robes, reappeared clad in dapper little suits, and sang Fame. They followed that with A Whiter Shade of Pale. The songs were a cappella, with the boys filling in all the accompaniment harmonies.
Believe me, you havent lived until you’ve heard [them] singing Baby, hold me tight . . .it’ll make everything all right. These kids get points for
